The National House Building Council has announced that new home registrations in the first three months of 2016 have dropped by 9%, from 40,144 in Q1 of 2015 to 36,566 in 2016.

Housing associations merger

L&Q, The Hyde Group and East Thames are set to merge, creating one of the largest housing associations in the UK, worth an estimated £30bn. As well as saving an estimated £50m a year, the merger will also enable a combined investment of £35bn over the next 10 years, with over half of the new homes built for people on low incomes.
